SMART Grassroots

Engage with AAPM membership on MP3.0 activities.

Why SMART Grassroots?

The broad and ambitious goal of MP3.0 is transformational physics for everyone. To inspire change our committee needs to be transparent about our efforts and communicate them out clearly. We need input from physicists across all specialties and backgrounds to make sure MP3.0 stays grounded and is relevant to all physicists. We want members to feel a sense of ownership and engagement.

Communication
Often, a lot of committee effort is put into doing the work of the committee. Less effort though, is put into explaining and communicating this work to AAPM membership. It then appears as if no work was done.

Goal

  • Continuously ensure the MP3.0 website is clearly organized such that resources like papers, FAQs, webinars and podcasts are easy to find.
  • Actively share our work with AAPM members through multiple channels such as AAPM emails, newsletters, and social media. Keep the website updated.
Problem

Outreach
Awareness of MP3.0 activities through communication is not sufficient if no one engages with the material. Active outreach efforts by the MP3.0 committee are needed.

  • Coordinate with other MP3.0 subcommittees to develop interactive examples, cases studies, exercises, seminars and workshops on MP3.0 topics.
  • Ensure material is practical and relatable.
Problem

Feedback
Feedback can be hard to give if AAPM members are not aware of what the committee has already done, are doing, or are planning to do. Without member feedback, MP3.0 will not know if we are on the right track.

Goal
Arrow Style of page Smart Tools
  • Provide a roadmap of activities across all MP3.0 activities so that physicists can see the overall picture and comment or vote on specific initiatives.
  • Develop an efficient method to monitor feedback so that it can be passed on to the relevant people to respond.
